I am looking for input about getting a sound card for my computer. (or fixing mine) I have recently uploaded my collection of music but am not enamored by the sound in the computer. Okay for casual listening but not as good as a decent cd player. I am not sure why and maybe its a software thing, but I have seen advertised in Frys Outpost some sound cards that promise excellent sound. I have a 2.4 GHz P4 I built with an ATI Radeon video card, 1meg RAM, on board sound. The board is an Intel Desktop D845PEBT2 with Soundmax software. Maybe a software upgade would help. My primary interest is great sound.

I have been thinking about getting one of these, but have not done it yet.

Here's a Thread were we did some discussion on this:

There's been others, but Searching has not uncovered all the ones I'm remembering... btw, my 'puter sounds outstanding since I installed that Delta 1010...

Looks like Terry is using one, also, over there on the "General / Powering a B360" Thread...

Don, I ordered one of the M audio 2496. I checked the previous posts but dont need to mix music and create music on my computer, I cant even sing let alone make music. The reviews show this card sounds great. I got it for $99 shipped from J&R audio. I will post about once I listen to it. Thanks for the recs.
