Hello
I've got a pair of LE85 and I would like to know the real procedure to centre the diaphragms. I always got a little noise at 1000Hz, it's not a big distortion but is it possible to get absolutely no noise whith those diaphragms ?
Thanx a lot

Sometimes it's necessary to ream out the mounting pin holes to be able to center the voice coil manually for noise free operation down to 500Hz at 2.83 volts for 8 ohm 3.5 volts for 16 ohm sweep test.
There is also the possibility that the voice coil has a high spot from adhesive or a high winding or possibly the voice coil is slightly out of round.
Bottom line is....Yes, it's possible and preferable to have no rubbing or buzzing below 1000Hz.
