A belated (and not very good, sorry) photo of one of the Altec 604E Duplexes that now grace my living room.

Cabinets designed by Bill Fortier (http://www.wardsweb.org/Billfort/), built by Michael Berg of Hudson, MA (Baltic Birch plywood). 9ft^3. Not quite as beautiful as Bill's, but handsomely functional from my perspective. Mike did a beautiful job with these.

604E "Super Duplexes" with Mastering Labs crossovers.

Internal wiring is CAT5.

They sound great. Using them with Bottlehead Paramours (SE 2A3) for the time being.

Cool!
Have you spent much time with them yet? How do they sound?

I haven't had my 604-8G's out for a long time and never had them on tubes,,, some day.

Those are looking very nice, Mark! Veneered or not, the build quality of the cabs shines through.

My most significant listening experiences with the 604 have come from listening to Gary's and they have been very good ones. Distinctively Altec thats for sure.

I am thoroughly pleased with them. They're intended for the "listening room" in our "retirement home" (currently in the planning stages) - but we had a window of opportunity to get the cabinets built... so they've displaced a pair of Altec Santiagos in the living room hifi (and given me an excuse to go back to fleapowered amps).
