Hi Folks,

I'm looking to set up with an oscilloscope . Does anyone here have experience of OSX based software ?

Opinions and suggestions most welcome !

TIA, Rich

A CRT scope or a USB scope? I know nothing about OXS, isn't it some sort of Windows-Mac interface?

I have a BitScope, a USB type that is working out quite well. Not too expensive but not cheap either. It was the best bang for the buck that I could find.

OS X - is OS 10 (1-=X in roman numerals). Its a VERY nice Macintosh interface that runs on top of an underlying BSD Unix structure. Current version is 10.6.4 (Snow leopard) but they just announced the next major release will be 10.7 (Lion - all are named after big cats).
All current macs run on Intel processors, but are quite a bit different than Windows.
of course, nearly all current macs can run windows as a background or an virtual process,
tho some of the support hardware is a bit different.

Rich,

Check out http://www.faberacoustical.com/fileadmin/images/SScIcon48.pngSignalScope (http://www.faberacoustical.com/products/signalscope/signalscope_details/) ! It's OSX friendly .

Donald Patten has done some nice crossover work using this, along with his other apps .

Here's his web page . (http://web.mac.com/donaldpatten/iWeb/X-Over/X-Over.html)

Thanks Earl ,

thats just the ticket . Will even work with my phone :applaud: I need to do a bit more research on it .
It seems to do everything to my tolerances .

336 pounds is very good value , a lot of bang for the buck ...

cheers , Rich
