Hi,
i am just playing around with the 2226H in different enclosures. I would like to a reflex enclosure with the 2226H woofer.

But what is the optimal enclosure volume for this woofer for home use in combination with a 2" or 1" driver?

Kind Regards

Barossi

I would go for the yellow one myself :)

The higher you put tuning, the higher it unloads, usually I like a lower tuning at the cost of some 40-60Hz output for this type of driver. EBS 3 is the order of the day or thereabouts, IMO.

It would be hard to hear the 1db reduced output in 50~60Hz range, but you will hear the increased output below 50Hz!;)

Isnt this worth considering?

Yes, it certainly is- I'd take the green profile with the 45Hz peak any day. We're less sensitive to group delay the lower in frequency it is, so the peak vs. the higher GD of the yellow alignment at 80Hz is much less of an issue IMO.

At what frequencies would you start to consider it an issue?

It depends how much, how loud, etc. I've seen some numbers on audibility of group delay, but as far as how that fits in here...

I don't worry much about it much below 50hz or so if that means anything, but this is not by any stretch a hard barrier.
