All,

I know I should be more focused on completing my JBL 4345 project before starting anything else; however, I was curious whether any forum members have any recommendations for what I could do with a pair of JBL 2245H currently sitting idle. They have brand new authentic JBL cones, and even though I don't have any immediate use for them, I would hate to sell them and I also don't want to let them rot in the closet.

Anyone every use a the JBL 2245 in anything other than a 4345 design?

Part of me want to make subs that would sit on top of my JBL 4345 (see example below). It would certainly bring the efficiency up for the low end (30hz to 290hz) but i'm not sure whether it will sound good.

I recently finished these 2245h subs. The beauty is being able to rotate full range speakers. I've been using JBL, Axiom, Harbeth all with good but very different and distinct sound. I also feel electronics changes are easier to discern subtle (or not so subtle) differences. The bottom end is a constant.

Anyway, just my 2 cents. Easy to make, guaranteed good results. Plans found here on the forum.

I see you're in MD. If you are close to Annapolis, come check them out.

I too have made some 2245H subs and love them and can highly recommend them. Here's one good link: http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?25778-2245H-Sub-Woofer-Project

You don't have to have the BX63A crossover; many others will work.

The plans by Greg Timbers are also on this website. I'd search on 2245H or B460.

I'm in Fairfax, VA if you're close in Maryland and want to check them out.
