Can somebody tell me the difference between the L100S and the L100T3 speakers. Also, was the T series speakers with the titanium tweeter actually considered a better speaker at the time than the beloved L150A or L250? Since the T series came out later, I thought they would be considered an upgrade by JBL and actually replaced the L150A and L250. Thanks for the info, Don

The L100S and L100T3 are identical in parts and performance but differ in finish. The L100S is wrapped in vinyl while the L100T3 is wrapped in a reconstituted wood veneer, light or dark.

I can't say if the original L100T was considered an upgrade from a L150, probably more like a product "Freshening" with a smaller, more consumer friendly footprint. They were never compared to the L250. In approximate terms, the L250 sold towards the end of the L150 the 250Ti with the L100T, and the 250TiLE with the L100T3, but always at significantly higher prices (our store sold L100T3's for $1,200/pr, 250TiLE's for $4,900/pr) - I really don't think they were comparable - the 250 and it's following iterations were the flagship model in JBL's line until the Everest in '95 or so, although I'm not sure if the XPL200 was considered a flagship or a compromise between a L100T3 and a 250TiLE during its time from about '91-'94. Hope this helps!

I think the Cascade was supposed to be the "flagship" during that time period but it never finalized.
