I’ve been waiting for one of these funky devises didn’t know they’d be so small.

Now after watching the videos where (SRS Michael Bingham) explains how it (monitors 20 frequency bands and figures out using an algorithm) so there most be type of threshold level of sort or maybe other?

Now if the analogue model does what I think it can I’d need at least x3

Left and right front
Left and right surround

Centre

LFE.1 (maybe)

It might control the level of such complex Dolby film mixes where often the left and right is just so ridiculous loud in frequency level it masks the detail of the centre discrete same goes with the surrounds thou they don’t often work at the same time as the fronts, but on few rare mixes they just make the centre hopeless impossible to hear some subtle differences in sound effects dialogue and (music that is playing a different part of the mix over rest of the fronts and surrounds).

UREI had made automatic leveling devices also...

I’m not going to say…is that so.

Well that doesn’t surprise me at all. I think it’s like reinventing the wheel again for a new market or public awareness on the issue.

I’m trying to save up so I can buy x3 of these devices which is roughly around £100.00 the SRS site doesn’t seem to mention post & packing unless I missed it on the site in some ultra tiny print?

Recently President Obama passed a bill to tv networks to lower the volume on commercials that suddenly put not just the visuals of the adds in your face, but down your ears as well! Some 10db or more 15db louder is often the case here in the UK it’s not necessary for it because I never pay any attention to the adds so its waste of time.

Alan Kraemer senior tech at SRSlabs gives short video about the issue, but its still here on youtube and other media formats.

have the technology built in to automatically control volume when changing stations or between ads and the programs via Dolby Volume; I've got in in my DHC 80.1 and it works like a charm. Seems like these little added bits could potentially cause issues you might not expect... like ground loop hum?? :crying:

Far better to save your money and invest in a newer amp or receiver which supports all these new formats; as far as my $0.02.;)

Alternately program your remote to bump the sound 15dB when you mute it at the commercials; way cheaper than £100.00.
