Hello, I'm not sure if it's the right forum but I'll try.
Anybody recognize this woofer?

It's a normal 18" woofer, 2 ½" voice coil, steel frame, good magnet, rolled cloth red/orange surround, nothing fancy.

Number on magnet: CS18 6 161G4
Or it could also be: GS18 6 16104
Number on the cone: C0186-1
Google is useless with these numbers.

It's the colour of the surround that intrigues me, reminds me of Cerwin-Vega or Altec.

They are in good working condition but they sit on my shelf since years, maybe I could put them to good use.

Anybody has an idea or even better... specs? :D

There are a lot of companies that just make speakers and sell them to other companies to put in a box. Pyle, Eminence and Pioneer are some of the many.
Unless someone has seen this or a similar speaker you are probably out of luck.:dont-know

EV???

Don't know, it has a cheap cast steel frame but the absence of any marking, foilcal or sticker suggests this is a speaker that was part of a cabinet and not sold as a separate component.

I'm in the process of measuring it to see if I can get the TS parameters, I have equipment but I'm working on the procedure.

So far I know the Fs is 26Hz.

Ok, I measured the thing with too much voltage at first. Too much excusion = lower Fs.

The first results:
Fs: 31Hz
Qms: 4.01
Qes: 0.5
Qts: 0.44

I now have to measure Vas... :hmm:

I’m guessing (CV) Cerwin-Vega as that is one of their signature marks with the red edge surrounds.

The red/orange surround screams Cerwin Vega to me.

Yeah that screams CV to me too. I did a google search on "old cerwin vega woofer" and came up with one that looks identical... (old since its not a rubber surround)

Nice catch! :applaud:
But I think that one has an aluminum frame, the shiny thick contour is a dead giveaway.

That's the thing that bothers me, "serious" companies don't use steel frames :hmm:
