Does anyone hare have information like technical specifications and pictures of JBL 8325A it’s a cinema surround speaker that I’ve been reading about in JBL broacher the speakers where installed at, The Cinepelx Odeon theatre Universal City California, around (1987) and no doubt have since been replaced.

I have Googled and found very little as its amounts to one thing a needle in haystack.

Cheers :)

Here you go:

http://www.jblpro.com/pub/obsolete/8325a.pdf

I found this by going to JBLpro.com and doing a search there using their search engine.

Also, look in the Products, then Vintage gear, and you'll find a link also under industrial series.

Speaker looks somewhat like a Consumer speaker with the small titanium tweeter and vinyl covered cabinet.

Here's how to find additional information if they have it: Check the JBL Pro home page under Support, then Service, then check the left side links for Exploded Views. Under the listing of all the different series of JBL systems, I found under Cinema, the following link to a nice technical manual. Links are:

http://www.jblproservice.com/navigation/pdf_nav_tech.html

http://www.jblproservice.com/navigation/Theatre%20Series.html

http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Theatre%20Series/8325A.pdf

BTW, the Cinema link will give you access to a ton of the obsolete Cinema speakers.

If you go back to the home page and click on products, and the Cinema link, you'll see all the neat current Cinema speakers that JBL makes. Download the full catalog and I guarantee you will be drooling at the systems show there. The Cinema links will also include a tech spec sheet link too which has some neat info.

Hope you enjoy it!!

High numbers on that mate wow :applaud:I’m saving the pdf file on that model. Good catch.
Why wasn’t I thinking JBL professional, I guess it’s the medication I’m on for my leg at the moment.

Looking at with the grill cover off as I can’t see much in the JBL broacher 10” bass mid and (5” and 1” that look like the same drivers for JBL model 8330).

Frequency response is good for 40Hz to 20KHz not a bad looking JBL surround speaker.

I’ve been to the site plenty of times and seen the current list of JBL cinema PA, just wasn’t looking for vintage JBL cinema I guess?

Thanks now that I know this I’ll take a peek now and then for some vintage JBL cinema.
:cheers::cheers:

Hmm, this looks like a new model to me haven’t seen this one before. I’ve seen the 8340 at the Empire and Odeon Leicester square.

The 8340 has spec down to 45Hz on the LF range and yet only 60Hz on the 8450???
