i stumbled across one of these recently
(will post pics of it in a few hours :flamed: )

same unit as this, unfortunately not nearly as pretty

on the plus side,
the unit i picked up also has what appears to be the optional stereo decoder module attached to the rear...

anyone have experience with them?

I need to bring this one to a local radio repair shop to have one of the
tuner needles restrung

person i got it from had it playing earlier today..

This type of an old German radio had a good sound in its class. The oval speakers in the open enclosure sound pretty pleasing (open baffle :) ). The tweeters to the left and right are from ISOPHON and do their job (ca. 4 kHz and up).
It is one of the first stereo radios but there is no claim for HiFi. It is all with valves. :thmbsup:

There is one thing to consider: For FM there is a preemphasis/ demphasis., in Germany with 50 micro seconds, in the USA with 75 micro seconds (which can be adjusted with ONE capacitor).
The sound depends on this.
