Sound Chief: Possibly Largest Amplified Event in History (http://briefingroom.thehill.com/2009/01/20/sound-chief-possibly-largest-amplified-event-in-history/)

Could the inauguration be the largest amplified event in history? Bob Goldstein says it just might be.
Goldstein is owner of Maryland Sound, the company in charge of broadcasting the ceremonies in and around the National Mall. In all, Goldstein says thousands of speakers are relaying the event to millions of people. It took his employees 32 tractor-trailers to haul the equipment.
"There's Times Square, there's NASCAR events, there's been huge concerts, but I'm not sure anything else touches this," Goldstein said. "Look at all the people hearing this."
There arer also 535 very special speakers on the inauguration platform, Goldstein said - each member of Congress has an individual speaker underneath their chairs.

Bobs got the BIGGEST pile in this area.

Not sure if it was all his. There are a lot of Vertecs in the area and some of it may have been subbed out due to the large amount of boxs required.

Still,great account to have.

I"m curious how it was linked together.
D.C is R.F. HELL.

Actually, to get at the TRUTH of the thing, look it up.
The Milli Vanilla scandal was because the front men lip synced to someone else's music - even on their record it wasn't their own voices.
Look it up - sheesh! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milli_vanili

The Quartet with YoyoMa was different. It was the same band performing behind a recording of themselves.
Due to the difficulty of keeping piano, cello and violin in tune in sub 30 degree weather,
Yoyo's quartet recorded their own performance 2 days earlier.
They did play live, but were unamped, so most folks heard the prerecorded version of the John William's piece.
They wanted it to sound good, befitting a historic event.

Different reason, different situation.
