Hallo there !!
What to do with all this stuff !!
Got it chep ....300 Euro :)
Its four 2231 two A and two H, two 2122H, two 2105H and four 2405 two H and two A 16 ohm.
So what to do  ........start a new projekt !!
Still working with my Altec projekt, thanks to Zilch and Yggdrasil it soon be finished............Will i ever.....
Here are some pictures of the Altecs.

So , what to do with the JBL gear ??
I know that the 2235 is regarded as a better driver than the 2231, but this is what i have, a cabinet with two 2231 and the 2122, 2505 and a suited mid horn and driver.
Here some pictures of the JBL gear.

Yes , two Mantarey with 902 drivers too !!

All driver are in nice condition, just need a cabinet and XO.
I will start planning, make some simulations with Win-isd.
Any tips and ideas are most welcome :bouncy:

...four 2405 two H and two A 16 ohm.Since you posted this I assume you have missed the several posts about the impedance of these drivers... whether labeled 8 ohms or 16, they are all the same. JBL was a bit erratic in labeling way back when. From my measurements and listening tests, I have found no sonic difference between the ferrite and alnico 2405s... assuming they are all working up to spec, a big assumption, I'd use the ferrites and sell the more valuable alnicos.

Sounds like you have the parts to make some pretty fun speakers.... keep us posted.

looking at your drivers I think you should resell the 2105 and try to find some compression drivers and horns.

The best design to build with your components would be the 4344:
2235, 2122, 2426 (or equivalent) on 2307, 2405
There are nice plans somewhere on the forum (a PDF with a lot of details of a modified version, but I can't find it)

You could even keep the other two 2235 as additional subs to fight room modes.

Another option is to convert the four 2235 to 2234 (do a search to find how) and then source some 2426 and 2344 horns to build a pair of 4435

EDIT: oups sorry, you have 2231, but it is quite similar...

by the way, I can't see the images in your first post

I like where you're going with this . . . .

EXCEPT you should follow pos's advice and substitute the 4344 compression driver and horn treble for the Altec. Not that there's anything wrong with the Altec. It's just that using all 4344 components, the crossover is already designed for you.

Hi boys, and girls !!
Iam still working on my big JBL projekt .
So far i have four 2231H, two 2202H, two 2441 with 2390 horn/lens combo and two 2405.......
so what can i do with that??
It is not so easy to get JBL DRIVERS here in sweden........
So this is at the moment what i have to work with.
I could build a cab with the two 2231 and the 2202 and put the driver/horn/lens combo on top.....
And what about the xo ?? any ideas ??!!
Now the 2441/2390 plays on top of my altec 416 bass cabs, xo at 800hz....and i love the sound, just missing the punch of the jbl.....

You have many of the components, less the crossovers and a pair of 2311/H93 horns with 2308 lenses, for the 4355. Those horns are not difficult to find, and if you search here you will find an updated schematic for a crossover.

Alternatively, you could use the 2231's from 80 Hz down under your present setup. That is what I would do.

What part of Sweden are you in? My ancestors came from Stockholm, I still have relatives living there. John

Hallo ,
Here in Stocholm spring has arrived, the snow is gone, so its time to start living again...... i hate the winter.
Have been reading about the 4351 projekt here at the forum.
If i build a cab for the two 2231 with a doghouse for the 2202 and put the 2441 with its horn and the 2405 on top.
Use a 3107 filter, i`ll build it myself from all the nice plans here at the forum.
i think i seen some plans of different cab layouts in the 4351 thred.
Wouldn`t that work fine for a start !!??
The idee to use the 2231 below 80hz is a nice thought........but donīt think my wife will accept two giant cabs beside the big Altec cabs at 250 liter..:blink:Two giant cabs is fine, but four ??
