Was reading "The Wear & Care of Records & Styli" (Harold Weiler) today...Although its a much older book, was really interesting...this page kinda stopped me.
Now it seems like mostly mentioned in the book is a standard VTF of 6 grams, that produces 26 tons per square inch. !! Is it correct to scale that equation back to 1.5 grams produce 6.5 tons ( 13,000 pounds ) per sq. in. ????
It also looks like sapphire tips only had a usable life of under 7 playing hours !!!
