Beautiful cabinets though... I am not so sure that is such sad news. There are countless DIY projects that could go into those nice pieces of furniture... hell, I bet you could even fit a small pair of Polks in them. ;)

As I remember, someone around here turned some empty Apollo cabinets into 4430's, using those 4430 components.

The best of both worlds; that great 4430 sound in a timeless, classic cabinet. Miles ahead of the S-7 system in sound quality in my opinion.

Very nice! I always liked the look of the Apollos. I sold this pair to Phil (an LH members) with LE14Cs (only needed refoaming) for $500 'cause that's what he offered me for them. Cabinets (including scroll-work) were a 9.5+++.

I also had access to the matching JBL "equipment cabinet" complete with Fisher gear and a R-T-R, but no-one here wanted it at the time. The guy gave it to his gardner. Then I spent a couple months trying to get it back from the gardner for an LH member who decided he wanted it after all. Alas, the gardner's wife was too enamored with it and would not part with it.
