Hi,
I am brand new to this forum and a newbie at this so forgive me in advance. I am moving next year and I have the option to build a studio
in my basement. I want to build a set of in-wall studio monitors from JBL
components...here's where things get interesting. I have a set of SR4725's which I wanted to use for this. I was going to take the 15"s, horn tweeters and crossovers from those cabs, and build a couple of custom cabs for the studio! Are the crossovers suitable? Or would I be
better off using a different crossover from another series? Should I grab a pair of 10's and a diff. x-over and make these 3 ways? Will the horns which were'nt designed for critical listening be too harsh? HELP before I do something
dumb. Just using a A/B volume attentuator for switching between sources,
and I may use a 1500 watt Mackie Amp to power them. I also have the matching 18" subs to go with them but I think that might be a bit much
for the room I am building..any advice will be taken to heart. I have a set
of nearfields that work great, It would just be nice to shake my wife off the couch:D
