My 4312s, which I purchased in 84 still work great. They have been pushed with carver, pioneer, Yamaha, Onyko, and Now Denon... 3808 for the curious.
Im using them in a HT system as front L/R and am looking for a more transparent soundstage by upgrading the Center. I could always buy a New MATCHING set of F/C/L speakers, but prefer to KEEP my 4312's, and just find a Center that compliments them. Does anyone here have 4312's in a similar setup? If so,What do you use?
Thanks

I am currently using a L100 for my center speaker. Lots of people forget that 50% or more of the sound on a surround system comes from the front center. I have listened to a lot of other center channel speakers and have yet to hear one that sounds better. It is warm and natural. I would try to find another 4312 to use. If you look long enough you may be able to find a single L100 or 4312 on ebay.

I think I’ve mentioned this before unless I’ve been suffering a memory lapse!? Matching fronts LCR I repeat matching fronts LCR no mismatching! Mismatching = poor sound and your objective is to get what you would come to expect from a professional cinema installation.

So again I must stress the issue matching fronts LCR sorry to be the bringer of bad news but that is fact and that’s how its been for cinema for decades now, you can argue this issue out until it reaches 3 pages I’m not saying another single word on this because if you think you know better then buy those so called centre channels and you’ll be gravely disappointed or worse tone deaf!
