Hi folks, does any of you know the JDF/JMF power amplifiers? Are the current JMF amplifiers similar in sound as the older JDF? Thank you in advance.

Hi Peter, thx for the info link. Yeah, those are the JDF amps. But I need some impressions from someone who has compared those two related brands.

Hi Stéphane, thanks for the link and for mentioning fellow's forum participant Caladois. I left a personal message for him in this forum. I hope he will be able to read it. If you have friends who knows the two brands quite well, please refer them to me. Once more thank you.

I heard both products : JDF and JMF, but on different systems. So , it's quiet difficult to have a good idea. The latest products seems to have a high end construction. Logically, they are updates amplifier. There is no reason why they outperform JDF amplifier.http://nsa02.casimages.com/img/2008/06/28/mini_0806280920283856942.jpg (http://www.casimages.com/img.php?i=0806280920283856942.jpg)
Here is one of my JDF Audio HQS2400 upm. They sound neutral. You should organize a session in JMF-Audio auditorium. Very instructive and impressive. The products are also distribute by ACOUSTIQUE SYSTEME located in north east of France.

I have found an other JDF-Audio HQS2400 amplifier in great condition.
47296 It 's not very nice, but it matched with my JBL.
The new JMF-Audio product is here on their website: http://www.jmf-audio.com/

Here is the last JMF-Audio amplifier line available with wallnut or alu faceplate. The HQS6001c is a stereo amp and the rest of the product are pure monos units (HQS1000, HSQ7001 and the summit HQS9001).

Cocorico, Allez les bleus !
I will be able to compare in-situ the next 2/3 weeks the JDF and JMF product. I have ordered a brand new HQS6002 (version D)
JDF-AUDIO HQS2400
JMF-AUDIO HQS6002
I will let you know asap.

That's now three months I can listen and compare the JMF and JDF amps. For lot of people, the new HQS6002(D) replace the famous JDF-AUDIO HQS2400. It's true and not.
The sound family is here : smooth, details and effortless
But, the new line seems more accurate, and more precise in 3D image and give us some more space around the musiciens. I believe the power is something like 50w more important.
I am keeping the JDF-Audio for my DIY application. And today, the JMF-Audio is powering my studio monitors.
Last point, the wallnut faceplate is beautiful, and even more compare to the "horrible" professionnal amplifier design of the nineties !!!

I wish you could share some pictures of your set up. The RM7v are just one of my dream system. The only Kinoshita I listen to were WARP...
I own myself four JDF HQS2400 and HQS2100, and I just purchase JMF-Audio electronics. I really enjoy these amplifiers

Dear sir
Unfortunately, the "Magical Super Studio" (at Aoyama Japan, near JVC Aoyama studio) was already closed over 10 years ago.
But you can hear and see all of Shozo Kinoshita (my friend) at Hakone Japan.

Hello,
What is the specifications for the RX-21 crossover used with the Kinoshita RM7V speakers?
Is it possible to repair them when the capacitors is old?

Thanks, I agree they sounds very good. As I understand the TAD 4001 drivers used in the RM7V was developed by Bart Locanthi especially for the Kinoshita/TAD horns. The horns has an even response distribution over its pattern which is unusual.

The crossover frequency is 425Hz. It will be impossible exchange only capacitors, you need also exchange choke coils & base board.
So Kinoshita will say that you should exchange RX-21 to RX-21A whole unit.

He is a great engineer of electronics & speakers.
The relation of Locanthi & Shozo Kinoshita is told in this web.
http://www.reyaudio.com/history-e.html
TAD TD-4001 is developed by Pioneer company when Kinoshita is employed.
Locanthi was a teacher in LS project of Pioneer, and Kinoshita was a leader of this project.
TAD speaker units were produced by this project.

Yours look better than mine.
Mine look like I went to home depot, bought some 4x4, cut it all up and then connected it all together with 1-1/4" dowels...

Those look great. Unfortunately for me, my daughter's cat would just find that space underneath as another great excuse to not use the cat box :P Maybe in a few years :)
