Jus thought id share what i just built in my home as a private demo room. In my rack pics there are 539s i do not use them , this system needs no eq, If i have to eq a song that is what the Thrive Audio Bender 5 way program EQ is used for.

Great system but it must really rip your head off in that room!

Can you get some bulk absorption in there. Shove 100mm acoustic foam in between the rafters at least (maybe there is already something there out of shot)? :applaud:

its very efficient so i get all the info at low levels, i dnt play it loud at all, but is i want to i got the power and headroom to do so. as far as treating the room i will do that in my next place when i buy a home

how about a little talk on the THRIVE amplifiers and other electronics you are designing, building & using?

Same question for the custom cabinets?




Is there a link or something where we can read all about them and how they perform technically?

i had a client over today to demo my system & our products, after hearing this system he will be purchasing SBS & Thrive Audio products, he was blown away by it. He kept sayin how he swore the band was rt there infront of him playing when he would close his eyes. We demoed Opera,Clasical, Big Band, Jazz, Gospel, R & B , Dance, basicly anything we could throw at it to see what it would sound like and it all was amazing.

He couldn`t believe the dynamics of this system and the flexibility of it, no matter what you played on it, he comented many times how full it was at any level, from very low to medium levels, and very loud levels aswell & we got no aural fatigue. He had said he couldnt believe after 4 hrs of listening to music on such a large system his ears were not ringing & kept sayin how clean it sounded.

But I missed a FedEx delivery on product for a different client because i didn`t hear the bell ring lol, Needless to say, I had to go to Fed Ex early this evening to pic it up because of this, oh well it was worth it lol.

I never thought about wiring up a light but its a great idea and i am going to do this. Thx

walls used in the FBH 115T construction?


Parallel walls creates resonances which absorb power
from the horn's output if it falls inside the horn's
operating band, creating a notch in the frequency response.

Additional resonances would occur at odd multiples of this
frequency (1, 3, 5, etc.). This would indicate that to go higher
in frequency using a horn with parallel side walls, one would
need a narrower horn (consider the popular Lowther-style rear-loaded horns).

A SBS re engineered & reworking Marchand series xover. There is nothing stock about this unit at all but the circuit board & Chasis.
This is custom built to my spec from scratch. All the Pots & every part on the board was custom ordered, applied & tailored to SBS spec. This Variation of this xover is only sold with SBS Sound Systems aswell.

I love this SBS version of the Marchand xover, its in my system rt ?.

No not at all, the way this box is designed i dont have these issues. It is a incredible cabinet design, I have played everything from Opera,jazz, big band, rock, R & B, Disco, Funk soul, to Electronica, the TAD 1601B works incredible in this horn its dead clean & gets down low.

anyway, i hear the company is nice to work with....



regarding the Thrive amps just looking for a general run down of the topology used in the Amps and power ratings.... maybe some response curves if you all had run them...

are they Mosfet? Direct Coupled?

you never know Shorty, about who your potential client base is.....

i sure didn't see myself having TAD woofers/2440s & large slant lens plates,
076s and a slew of bullets a few years ago...

but here i am with just that....


so who knows, maybe i will be able to afford the highest of the high end at some point soon.... :)

have you heard of DJ crossovers by a guy named Mike Conacchio - I think he owns/runs Sound Environments out of Brick NJ -- His crossover is somewhat simmilar to the RLA line, but he uses shallower slopes in the full range.... do you have any thoughts on his products?

I've been using a few of his crossovers, and i must admit, i am quite fond of the shallower slopes he uses in the full range...

Yea the Marchands are Great very flexible, you have pretty much unlimited capability with them and they sound sweet, good to over 100K, you can load the boards with what ever you want.

The Mike Conacchio xovers are nice w/12db slopes and are flexible aswell. it is a bit diff to the RLA design same principal but not as much gain in the sub and tweeter circuit.
