Greetings to all - first time poster.
I'm in the process of R & R'ing a pair of L-110's, and one of the 033 tweeters is toast.
I'm trying to find a replacement which does not cost the earth (if anyone has one to offer, let me know!), and I am wondering if there were any other tweeter options that might be a good candidate for replacement of the 033's? ( ...and yes, I did do a number of past post searches on this site which did not yield this info).
Maybe the tweeter from another JBL model, either earlier or later in the model run, could interchange?
What I am seeking is a replacement tweeter which physically fits into this cabinet w/o modifications, so that I can continue my search for the elusive 033 and replace it in the future. But, in the meantime, I'd like to fill the existing hole with a similar tweeter so that I am not dead in the water.
My acoustical standards for this specific speaker and the intended end user are a bit relaxed, so even a proper sized non-JBL tweeter would be a good candidate.
A search of such places as Parts Express (a.k.a Part sEx press) did not yield one which looked as if it could fit. The driver board hole's too big for most candidates.
Or, finally, is there a tweeter "rebuilding" firm who could do a repair on the dead one that I have, as another option?
Thanks and Cheers - DM
