View Full Version : Another Horn Derived From 2397?

This is Pioneer Exclusive's 2301, released in 1978. The horn is EH-321L. To me they look like a plywood version of 2397. Perhaps someone with better eyes can see a difference? :dont-know The woofer is 12in if that helps for comparison.

It is the same design principle.
There are even the bars which Westlake omitted in their later releases.

I think you'll find the vanes are still there in the TM-3 for example-the smaller uhf horn doesn't have them though.

That Pioneer horn looks very much like the 2397 to me. The lip profile is a bit different, but all of these horns are based on the work of Dr. Smith back in the '50s.

That Pioneer system sure looks like a dressed up JBL... imitation is the sincerest form of....

Here is a current Westlake product showing the vanes on the mid horn and none on the tweeter.
