Hi Widget,

It's a circuit test device and plugged into a DS3 channel reading the carrier frequency, and watching for errors. AH is connected to the world on a couple of DS3s - on separate muxes - hence the dumb title of the post.

The device is a life saver when the telco says "not our problem" or worse. Worse would be when they ask "we have no way of testing that circuit, do you?" and the circuit is broken. Actually happened a few months ago.

It will test up to OC-12 which is a fiber ring with 12-DS3s. An OC-12 mux is outside the picture to the right.
