View Full Version : Kenwood
Anyone here ever seen these??? Any opinions? Looks like a bullet style tweeter. Quite hefty for Kenwood, I was always under the impression that Kenwood was budget gear:blink:

I’m Kenwood owner of the Kenwood KRF-X9050D THX select and yes they do make some budget price range products to fit suitable pockets, I mean not everyone has a money tree growing the back garden. :D

Oh very nice I knew they did car Hi-Fi didn’t know they did anything as elegant look as these. :p
Doesn’t Kenwood also make food blenders, so how come JBL isn’t in the market for food blends?:D
I picked up a pair from a local seller. Retailed for $2300 in late 70's early 80's. Haven't set them up as they are really huge, but for the price I paid I figured it was worth a shot. He did a demo for me at his house with a single ended 300B amp and they sounded quite good.
I thought the tweeter, mid ext was plastic but appears cast. Tweeter is about 6 inches deep cast, and very heavy. Much heavier than a slot 2405. Not sure about specs though, not much of tech:D
Interesting thing about the LS1900's is that they can be tri-amped and have seperate taps for each speaker. They can also be bi-amps as well. Haven't cracked em' open to look at the crossover networks

Have you tried using multiple keywords to search Google to see if an old user’s manual exists?
Get the old SPL db metre on them and maybe an RTA and use the free download version of TrueRTA http://www.trueaudio.com/rta_abt1.htm (http://www.trueaudio.com/rta_abt1.htm) level 1 to take some readings. :)
I found a manual on a stereo manual shop, ordered but looks like it may take a few weeks to arrive. On the web page I posted as a link it shows some graphs ect. on the speaker system, but I'm not to good at reading them.
