Hi everybody. I'm in the process of getting back into JBL speakers. I had a set of 4311s & L150s in the late 70s/early 80s. I'm putting together a theater surround system and have decided on the HT series speakers. I'll be using subwoofers and my question is what are pros & cons of sending the full frequency signal to the front, center & surround speakers or just the mids & highs.

...my question is what are pros & cons of sending the full frequency signal to the front, center & surround speakers or just the mids & highs.For a high end system where you don't want the perturbations that a network inserted ahead of your mains might cause you may want to run the mains and center full bandwidth, however in most HT systems using smaller speakers like the HT series, you really should use the built in crossover in your receiver or processor. The small woofers in these speakers will add significant distortion to your playback if you do not limit the LF going to them.
