With some spare parts courtesy of Rich, well here’s tonight’s plan I have two other JBL Control five monitors that have different 6 ½ bass mid drivers in them as the edge foam surround gave up the ghost a few years ago I didn’t have the bottle to fix them and see that the HF drivers voice coil got overdriven which resulted in a burnt out HF I was rather depressed for weeks.
So I have these other HF drivers that sit on top of them that seem to work, there from an Eltax tower range which is placed to the left-hand side of the room.
Now I plan to make minor repair to the bass mid driver which as a slight bit of damage to the edge foam surround, hopefully a small amount of silicon rubber will seal the wound kinder like putting a plaster on cut finger.
If all goes will I should have these up and running within a few hours if all goes well.:)
