I bought this Phillips stereo radio w/SW yesterday, powers up, case is falling apart.

question is: what are the rear ports and front controls ?

the black with white circles are "on-off", afc ,mono= i know.

the band selector is the left dial. where is volume ? right knob is tuning. which are speaker outs ? is antenna the one that looks like a Y ? etc...

it is Dutch, maybe our German members know ?

Although the device is unknown to me, some hints:

It seems to be a tuner, so there is no volume.
From left to right:

The left plug with the triangle in the square seems to be signal out (very unusual plug).

Wire radio presumably a predecessor of cable radio, may be common before 1945 (in Germany) - not quite sure.

Top hole is antenna for AM, below presumably ground. The contact between gives connection to the twin plug to the right, which is the connection for a FM dipol.

Knobs "S" and "SEL" are not common. (Somewhere must be a selector for FM/AM).

The text on the lower part of the front reads 'Stereo High Fidelity', so it can't be much older than 1960. Judging by the design, I would say that it is from about 1965.

Could we have a picture of the text to the left?

in addition to Peter's ideas.....

your pic shows on the left side a special connector as the tuner out for a stereo signal with 0dB.
The wire radio seems to be a special impedanced cable antenna signal input.
the open triangle is the AM-Antenna input and the other the FM 300 Ohms antenna input.
The "SEL" button is maybe the selectivity control for the RF bandwidth of the tuner.
"S" maybe stereo.

I think of a fabrication year between 1959 and 1963 in cause of the design of this Radio/Tuner and it seems that this was specialy built for the US market.

only my few cents......

PIN 1 - 5 is (presumably) LINE OUT.

I suggest, take a stereo cinch cable, cut one end and connect as follows:
1 - 2 left and
4 - 5 right.
It must be tried out what is signal or ground. When the case is falling apart, then there was a sight at the internal connections.
(I suppose there is some soldering needed.)

Other side of cinch cable attached to LINE IN of amp.

Or attache cable ground to chassis and try out all of the pins as signal out.
(There should be something to hear, try different wave bands. Use a piece of wire as antenna.)

Hello
Peter is right completely.
The equipment is a Philips Tuner of approx. 1964.
No output stage,
no loudspeakers and
no volume control.
It became with the amplifier Philips AG9018 combined.

Also connection allocation for the LINE connection is correct.

2 = left Channel out
4 = right Channel out
1,3,5 = GND

I can mail you a schematic of the output stage.
