Here is a raw curve of a 2425H on a 2307. I think below 1k your pushing things but I can see why JBL used them lower in some systems.

Thanx
I have seen 500 in old papers.
And for the H92 ?

And for the H92 ?JBL originally rated the combo for 500Hz, later they said 800Hz and eventually they rated the H91(2307) as a 1200Hz horn. I certainly wouldn't use the H92(2312) below 800Hz... and even that is probably pushing it.

The 1" drivers will play down to 500Hz, but the power rating is lowered, the distortion is increased, and the sound quality is negatively affected.

jbl told me 500 hz as recently as 1980 with the l136a le85 combination in my old l300.i wonder now what the difference would have been as at the time i had variable electronic x overs w/18 db slope

You can do it... it's just that the sound quality is significantly compromised. The steeper slope will reduce the distortion and likelihood of driver destruction... but not as well as choosing a higher crossover frequency.

This stuff is all about compromises.

Thank you all.
What is the H92 advantage over H91 ?
Is it worth change a H91 to a H92 ?
Or should I change to another Horn.
Basically what does my HL91 lenses do ?
Best Regards
Kjell

Basically what does my HL91 lenses do ?
Maybe this will help?

In case you aren't familiar with the pro naming system, the HL91 is called the 2391 and is made up of the 2308 lens and the 2307 horn... the H92 is called the 2312.
