Can anyone post the grille size/specs needed for an Altec Model 15? Can't find my records of the size needed. Size of the grille mounting frame would work too (maybe even better). I remember the design (three beveled edges with a single banded horizontal groove) but need the edge to edge dimensions.

Here you go SOG.
Grill frame is 25.5" tall and 21 15/16" W
The insert to which the foam is attached is 25 1/4" Tall and 21 3/4" W.
There is a notch in the outer frame for some sort of band to separate the top from bottom exactly 8" down from the top outer edge and it is 3/4" wide.
Here are some pics that might help.

Excellent! Thank-Q! :applaud: Just the kind of info I need.
That wood trim looks good. As I recall, the original foam grille had a 3/4" wide black plastic band instead which usually was in poor shape. I offer buyers of new grilles a choice of grille with or without the horizontal cut for a band. A band of various colors or wood patterns could probably be included in new grilles.
Thanks again.

I have never actually seen a real factory model 15 grill so I had to wing it when I did these. Most grills on the 15s at this point in time have fabric streatched over the outer frame and look quite poorly done.
I removed the pressed board insert from the frame and it was a very hard task to get these looking good.
Your foam would have been a much easier fix for sure.
Please post a photo of what they should look like when you get a set done.
Thank you
Gary
