Well maybe not free but attaching free range egg boxes to the sides of the walls up front has made a little difference with some frequencies. At the moment this is only an experiment. Given the shape and surface it sees to help with some directional high frequencies.

So with a little saving of the good ole egg box from each purchase seems to work ok, it may not look appealing but with a little Blu tack stuck to the front of the egg box and stuck to walls surface what harm can it curse.:)

I’ll be trying out kitchen roles next to see what I can solve on the affordable means that is.:)

was popular (trendy?) long ago... terrible fire hazard if you were to cover a wall.

Hay I don’t give a hoot, it’s my life:p . I’ll be covering other parts of the back wall and part of the sidewall areas where the surrounds are placed. But not before thoroughly listening to what small problems there are between where I’m seated.

I’ll check this though with specific types of films and try and determine where to place the egg boxes.:)

We had this when I was student manager of WSAE-FM, but the egg inserts were treated with flame retardant. Still, I'm sure it would've burned like an inferno had it ever started.

Hey, I don't really either, although it'd be a shame to see the world lose a nice set of speakers. ;)
I sincerely doubt tacking a few cartons here and there would add much
fuel to a fire... was talking about entire rooms that were done that way (in case you
decided to go nuts with it). Still, your life in any case, so enjoy

I might be watching “The Towering Inferno” tonight, haven’t played it in THX for about year now.

“It’s too hot”! :D

Since I don’t smoke;) how in the world is fire going to get onto my LOL egg boxes?

"We could have a fire with a few egg boxes"!:D

"Now hold on wait a moment everyone let’s not get too excited"!:D

Bands with no money (most bands at the time) used to do this all the time but they were made of cardboard in those days

That’s a smashing idea:thmbsup: and a can of spray paint I can give it a different look.

I’ll check the shop across the road to see if they’ll give a around 20 or so for a few quid.:D

I like the usage of the tiles you stuck to the walls; I take it its grip fill you used to stick those to the wall, great stuff.

I’ll have a snack then I’m popping of too Winton high street, to the foam shop to see what they have going on the affordable means.

I can take them down anytime I want, leaving almost imperceptible holes behind...

For many years ago I covered the entire ceiling with egg cartons. It improved the sound. The walls was covered with very thick wallpaper made of pure wool. This was a small room, and something had to be done to remove reflections.

When I ate on $1.00 a day food budget for a burger and fries, and put all my other money into the studio gear... I had some "egg-crates" on the walls. When you are 17 years old, you don't think about fire hazzard. I survived. Rolf Erickson.
