guessing plently of dorrough meters ;)

One or another RTA runs here all the time.

They all have built-in VU, which I rarely use but to check channel output balance.

Also, Radio Shack SPL meter, occasionally.... :)

how cheap do you want to go?

pretty cheap, but still good functionality....

found these too...

I was actually considering rigging up 8 old needle style VUs, but figured that may not be the way to go....

I recommend the Show-Off T-shirt... I saw it at CES, and it really works!

When i was a little which was about 12 years ago when i was 10 or even littler than 10 since i was first facinated with lights and sound, i have always wanted to get my hands on a crap load of spectrum analisers, only cause of the coolness factor and im obsessed with LED's and cool lights, but yeah, i also want to get my hands on some RTL's or spectrum analisers. i have a Technics SH-GE90 DSP spectrum analiser now, but i want to get more!! it's like my JBL collection, I JUST WANT MORE!! ok ok, ill hide in the corner and be quiet..

I was looking at those, but I want to preserve a little bit of space in my rack....

I am looking into ones that are smaller than 2RU for all eight channels (4 stereo pairs).....

found one that is 1 RU, but it is too expensive for my tastes

Speaking of VU power meters, here are some shots from Technics SE-A5mk2 power amplifier:

http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/6559/sea5mkiilights05if.th.jpg (http://img296.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sea5mkiilights05if.jpg) http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/3513/sea5mkiilights15uf.th.jpg (http://img296.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sea5mkiilights15uf.jpg) http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/7203/sea5mkiilights27ny.th.jpg (http://img296.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sea5mkiilights27ny.jpg) http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/9053/sea5mkiilights39xd.th.jpg (http://img250.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sea5mkiilights39xd.jpg)

And these are from its bigger brother, the quite rare Technics SE-A3mk2 which I searched for 1.5 years to find one in original 220V and mint at the same time.
It would have been a serious transforming job if I had to convert 100V or 110V to 220V for an amp whos instantaneous power handling capacity is 1600 watts per channel and can produce 300 watts RMS per channel both channels driven into any load between 4 ohms to 8 ohms!
This baby is currently feeding my beloved 250TI Jubilee.
Simply lovely in both sight and sound. :p

I am simply in love with those fantastic VU-meters of Technics amps. :spin:

Here's my Mesa Baron before I had it plugged in. The VU's are very readable when lit, not nearly as dark as in the ad pic - about the same color as JBLFreeek's 2nd pic above.

Switchable range for 15w= 0dB, 150w= 0dB range, tube bias level, or off.
