how do you wire Series-parellel...i know Series and i know parellel...just dont know the combo....im tryn to hook up 4 jbl 2226h together and im not getting the ohms i'd like.:banghead: Im getting 2 and i'd like 4 ohms. Is there a way?

Also when i go down to 2 ohms do i sacrifice clarity in sound...all i know is that the amps run hotter..and the dampening factor drops.

all parallel = 2 ohms total
series/parallel = 8 ohms total
all series = 32 ohms total

dam i was hoping there was sum other wierd way of wiring to end up wth 4.

Can u decrease the wattage of a amp (crown itech 8000) by maybe the input sensitivity switch or the internal DSP?

got 4 of the 2226H's on one side of the amp down to 2 ohms pulling 3500 watts...a lil high but ok i guess and i have one srx725 double 18 for the other side of the amp which is pulling 4000watts...way to high....be nice to get that down to 2500.

got 4 of the 2226H's on one side of the amp down to 2 ohms pulling 3500 watts...I myself would probably run the 2226H's in series/parallel for an 8 ohm load with that amp. That still gives over 500 watts to each speaker - I can't imagine you'd ever need more than that continuous, and the amp would work a lot easier...

2226H is 600 aes to 1200 (somewhere in between), right...and jbk recomends 800 a piece for the horn loaded venue series enclosure. Isnt 500 to weak?

Isnt 500 to weak?Going from 500 watts to 800 watts isn't even going to give you another 2dB in output - that's like the difference between 120dB to 122dB. I just don't think it's worth it to run things up to the ragged edge, but do what you want, especially if it's newer stuff still under warranty. :blah: Be sure you and your audience have ear plugs handy. :)
