Hello,
Im Building a system consisting of the following components:
Revel B15a Subs...
JBL 2206H 12" Driver
2450/2382 Horn
JBL 2405 Slot Tweeter
JBL M553 Crossover

I am in interested in any suggestions the wealth of knowledge contained within this forum may have for the 2206H Enclosure design. I'd like the response to be flat from 75 to 600 Hz

My initial playing with a very old enclosure design program yielded 1.1 CU FT net volume, with F3 = Fb = 67.9 Hz, and a 4" dia x 2.5" port.

Opinions and experiences will be greatly appreciated.

Check out these guys at Pi Speakers. They've done a lot of work with that driver.

using unibox 4, i came up with a 25L/.9cf box with a 4in diameter, 8.42 in long port giving me a f3 of 78hz. oddly enough, the response closely mimics a sealed 252g until around 50hz where the vented alignment of the 2206 starts to fall away at 24db/octave.

i don't know what the impact of group delay will be nor have a built a box with that alignment to verify the model, i just happen to have a couple of 2206's and was checking out how to use them in a home theater environment.

Using your vent dimensions we get this in Bass Box

Tried it in LEAP as well. This is with Fp at 69Hz. Your F3 is 72Hz but the port length is 4 inches with 15% fill. Red curve is on axis 1 metter Blue is power response modeled on an infinite baffle.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to answer my question!

I find it very interesting that Bass box seemed to correlate to an old JBL program a bit more than the others. With this information, it seems clear that it willl be wise to experiment with port length.

Thanks again.
