Can anyone ID this sub???

I lifted this picture from Don's photo-log of his Japan trip. It's the sub in Mr. Sagano's living room.

I don't recognize it. Is this a standard issue JBL sub? I'm REAL interested in building a couple. What driver does it use? What are the dimensions of the enclosure? What is the veneer finish? What is the tuning?

When I built my two subs I used Infinity 12.1D drivers as I couldn't come up with a JBL driver that would work well in a small enclosure.

I think it is a beautiful piece! Might be a fun project and a nice piece of furniture.

By the looks of the cabinet, I'd say its a custom job. No telling what the driver is.

Phil & HifiHolic, great detective work!! However, I'm disappointed to be copying a non-JBL box. I'm going to build a pair of 4.5 cu. ft. boxes with 2235H drivers that look just like these. I think it's a pretty sub. Still haven't decided what veneer and finish to use.
