Please do not laugh! :D

Bought a pair 2405s (alnico, 16 ohms), these were originally in my 4343 cabs, from the same seller. Got as extra the following components for 18dB xovers:

2x platines
2x Roederstein 1mF 250V
2x Roederstein 1,5mF
2x Goldt 0,33mH coils
4x shunts 0,1mF 400V
2x Alps L-pads 8 ohms

Quote: "In the original 4343 xover schematic 0,16mH spools are used, the enclosed spools can be unspooled to this value. 2x 0,11mH spools ("high quality") are extra included", the xover is dedicated to "couple these 2405s to existing 2-way horn combinations, w/o the need to calculate a new crossover".

Arrgh. Does the whole idea make sense to anyone? Does the guy know what he's talking about, and is that indeed HQ-stuff. I realize that every pro able to build xovers has his own philosophy on how to do it right. Can I risk to give it to someone who would really build xovers from that, without being chased out? Any component values wrong? Thanks for your considerations.

You could use this schematic but use your 0.33mH coils.

Wow, thanks Todd. These are the components for a 3106? Saw this one often in threads as recommendation to use with 077/2405, but to be honest I can't read schematics well. (Appears bit like reading notes ;))

So, you would say have them build as is, from these components of today, and get out kinda "modern" (or improved) 3106s? I know someone here who could do it :bouncy: and would post pics of the result.

The higher crossover frequency of 43xx is currently favored for 2405.

Indeed, I find them notably noxious on 3105 or 3106.

Yes, the guy knows what he's talking about....

OK, thanks Zilch. I understand this as being checked and found correct/well adapted for 2405s. Will have them built.
