I need to replace the foam surround in a JBL Professional series Model 2115A 8" full range speaker (8 ohms). I think I've found a source for the surround, which I believe is called the "JBL LE8 thin surround", but I still haven't found a source for the aluminum dust cap.
Of course, I could try to replace the surround without removing the existing dust cap and shimming the voice coil, but that method always risks throwing the cone off-center. That would eventually destroy the voice coil, and I can't take that chance -- JBL doesn't make the C8R2115 recone kit any more.
If anyone can point me toward a source for aluminum dust caps (2" diameter) I'd be most grateful.
