Patsy Cline - Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits

Released 5 years after her death, includes her biggest hits between '57 and '63 including a great cover of Willie Nelson's Crazy. One of the biggest selling albums in the United States by any female country music artist. This reissue was released by MCA after Cline's induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1973

Beck, Bogert & Appice - self titled
(1973, Epic) STERLING in the deadwax

Bogert and Appice originally wanted Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart to join them in Cactus, but Beck spent most 69/70 recovering from a car wreck and Stewart went to Faces. They form a power trio here with some well played and recorded rock.

Chet Atkins - Chet Atkins Picks On Jerry Reed
    (1974, RCA Victor)

a nice sounding record by a couple of decent pickers in the "Nashville Sound" studios. One of a series of records that Atkins did with Reed.

Funny you shud mention that group ..... I just watched the 3 DVD set of selected acts from the Dick Cavett show (1969).....one disk included The Airplane , and Stills & Crosby ...right after Woodstock.

Grace was just making usual noises, Crosby was showing off his lack of skills, and they were sitting in a circle on nauga mushrooms, Dick asked Stills if he was going to perform (since he had his guitar at the ready) ....WOW, that was the best performance of all 3 discs...Stephen HAS to be in the top 5 American guitarists, (and his vocals arent too bad either.)

    Santana - self titled
    (1969, Columbia)

I have a couple of nice 2-eye copies, one in shrink with a sticker promoting the hit "Jingo". This record reminds me of Santana's intense performance[/URL] at Woodstock in the same year as their debut album, probably didn't hurt album sales.

Bob Marley and The Wailers - Babylon By Bus
    (1978, Island)

Live 2LP set recorded in June 1978. Listening to the first record; it's recorded pretty hot which seems to suit the performance starting off with Positive Vibrations.

Michelle Shocked - Short Sharp Shocked
(1988, Mercury) MASTERED BY CAPITOL in the deadwax; mastered by Eddy Schreyer at Capitol Studios

rootsy folk songs from the singer-songwriter out of East Texas, the nice production and playing is described as a "Nashville gloss" by one reviewer.

Did the Night Owl show today

    .
walked in at 5PM opening with a pocket full of $1's , grabbed fast b4 it filled with ooglers and was out by 6:15 ..when you could no longer walk around

I like the John Barry - Bond soundtracks ...Love , Peace & Happiness is a double (most expensive that I bought @$2) ...3 sides bad, but the only cut that I wanted was pristine...the title song is a whole side ...LP&H is very much in the psychedelic vein of THCT.

    The Beatles - Rubber Soul
    (1965, Parlophone) mid 70's UK Parlophone/EMI reissue

I swapped a pair of big Altec Valencia speakers into the rig this afternoon, this record sounds especially nice, Paul's bass thunders on the bottom end. I wonder if it sounds great on the Altecs because the Beatles studio monitors were Altec 605s?
