electronics came out at GW yesterday , saw a guy pick up this Denon and cradle it as if it was super valuable (didn't get a good look at it, he wouldn't let anyone near)

then a while later I went to look at books and there it was ..sitting on top of a junk pile , grabbed it up quickly and did a Q&D assessment. No obvious problems.

13 pounds to bungie to the bike. Got it home , all controls seem to work. Very nicely regarded model. Although 30 years old, still has good value.

Oh, and also this Adcom speaker selector. Have read that this is one of the few that doesn't kill bass when protection is engaged.

Oh yeah-2: A friend picked up a pair of AR -M5's , the "holographic" speakers.

Tom, I bought an Adcom similar to yours off of the bay a few years ago that can switch up to eight pairs of speakers. I think I'm only using four of the switches. It's nice to have when you have a collection. I normally only listen to one pair at a time.

After taking a look at the one I have, it only switches 6 pairs. Memory is not that good anymore.

ran across one of these 2 days back , seemed good condition,
    heavy slab metal faceplate, etc.

GW wanted $90, MSRP was $350 , so I gambled 6 on it. Got home
    appears to work OK.

been watching my line voltage in the leds fluctuate from 119-122V,
    guess that's normal

It's been low 50's and cloudish/wet for a couple of days, but I rode
    down to "grab-o-rama" yesterday.
Missed a nice Yamaha c-70 preamp by a couple of ns. Did grab some
Sennheiser IEM's that sound quite good.

Did get something that I've wanted for a while ... a book identifying woods
with samples to compare included. Not valuable, but wanted for a reference.

Low 50's yesterday, no rain/wind, so I took the bike down to GW salvage. Nice ride. Got a fair bag of OK stuff, LP's for son , chuff for CL, was about to leave when more tables came out ..

dug around a bit and found a GoPro vid action camera among the toys. About 200 new, so I gambled a quarter on it. Charged up at home, works perfect ...16GB memory card in it.

went down to Grab-o-Rama" again ... windy, nasty riding weather.

got some nice LP's & CD's , 3 great stamp albums , but not much of audio
interest. people line up at the front door around 6am for 7am opening and
then it's a "gold rush" . I get there at abt 12 since it's an hour ride for me.

anyway, a friend ran in with the crowd, but instead of going to the bins noticed
speakers over by the TV's. Tall floor standers. turned them around and read
"TheilCS2" on the back. Insane price, drivers all looked good. Got them home,
said sound nice. Very happy with his buy.

My 3 stamp albums were: 1 of FirstDayCovers. 1 of antique postoff post cards,
uncirc ..starting at 1873. 1. boxed set of old USA rather rare stamps that also included a collection of uncirc plate blocks.

    we both left happy

oh yeah, here is a pic of one of the post cards of 1873 ... didn't even need a house address to get it there.

temps been near & slightly over 50's recently .. great bike riding weather

went on the safari yesterday .. among other things, grabbed Sony MDR-V6
(the consumer version of the 7504) which seem to have a big following.

punchy, great highs & bass, tho a little tiring to my Senn accustomed ears.

also this poster. A couple of friends looked at it, can't seem to agree -
    authentic or not
