    Jbl 4350

Just wondering what you would do if you come across a JBL 4350 with non-original cabinets but with original drivers and woofers...and with a price tag of USD4500. Let's say the cabinets looks alright but need some touch up.Would you buy them?

If they were original I would get them fast.
Not original, I don't know. You would want to check the value of the various components to see if you could build them for for a comparable price.

    Best of luck to you

They are not original so that kicks the collectors value off them ... now its up to you!

Do you like the way they sound??
Do you have a spare $4500 to do the deal?
Do you have some extra money in case they need a new diaphram or surrounds or replace caps in the crossovers?

I gather something like that is rarer there than it is around here -
but it really depends on whether you want to have a large system for that kind of money.

Its really up to you and your tastes ... really!

These JBL's are such rare items here and I had to wait 3 years before I got my pair of L200. When it comes to 4350, I don't think I would able to find an original unit anytime soon. I was considering to get the components from eBay and building my own cabinets but the total cost for the components itself came to about USD 3,500 (including shipping). If the driver and woofer units are all original, I think I would probably go ahead to get it...

    This is extremely important.

Don't assume these will sound like a factory built pair in perfect condition.

If you have never heard a real pair of 4350s don't assume you will like a pair of them either.
