    JBL 1979 Home catalog

I have a minor question about the 1979 Home JBL catalog hosted on this site:

    http://www.lansingheritage.org/html/.../1979-home.htm

The thumbnails don't appear to line up with the linked images.

    Example:

You can clearly tell that is the L150 with the black 033 tweeter. Image links HERE where the image then shows the L150A with the 044 instead.

    Example:

Thumbnail clearly shows the L110. Image links HERE where it shows the L112 instead, as well as the 4311B which is not in the thumbnail.

The catalog itself is dated 81 on the last page.

Is the original 1979 catalog still available anywhere?

    Pleasure!

And, as time permits, I'll make priority out of uploading everything I have. There's may be some hardcopy I never got scanned. In any event, I'll make best efforts...

Thanks for keeping up with this. I often find the LH Library an irreplaceable resource.

Not that I wish the task on anyone but, given the shaky situation at Harman/JLB, do you think it's time to convert all the tech links into archived PDFs? I know I've already done it for most of what I own. Would there be a legal question in doing so?
". . . as you have no doubt noticed, no one told the 4345 that it can't work correctly so it does anyway."—Greg Timbers

I'm likely behind-the-times, but we've no way to upload pdfs. You made me look - the links do refer to JBL site and we should preserve "firm" copy here. I'll ponder the workload in doing that , but it is a very good point you make.

My grab is, no. Everything we mirror here is in the public domain, so there should be no copyright issues. And, we're not benefiting, per se (ah, the French! ) from providing access - were acting as a repository. Not knowing JBLs mindset, but guessing they: 1) don't care; 2) have mostly forgotten/abandoned the things we care about; 3) repeat #1...

Would seem to me if we volunteered to download the odd files, then uploaded the files to a thread with various headings (JBL consumer, L1 to L150A for example) we could divvy up the workload. Or organize a separate database ala AKA database or HiFi Engine library.

    so much to preserve.
