Pretty sure what I said speaks for itself - I made no such presumptions ...
But let me break it down for you ...
"JBL has made some great speakers,
and there is also some junk out there with the JBL badge on it too -"
I mean that some JBL is good, and some JBL gear is crap ...
are you following me so far?
the (JBL) name alone does NOT guarantee quality any more."
That statement is clear as an azure stream ...
- the implication is that at one time, you could buy JBL and assume a quality product.
These days, when you buy JBL, it might be good, or it might be junk - but there is
NO GUARANTEE which you will get if you do buy by name alone.

Hey, freight from Mexico ain't cheap!
Speaking of whiskey, just curious. What is Loch Lomond worth? It is Tintin's and Captain Haddock prefered Scotch Whiskey ;-) I'd buy a bottle just for the sake of putting it beside my collection of Tintin albums...

Sadly it is not one I would give any kind of recommendation. I was given a bottle of ' ten' year old once and gave it away to my local pub. It stayed on the top shelf there for a good couple of years before it was gone.
Kinda poor effort given the brand awareness that Loch Lomond gives.
And what do you manufacture ? Are all of us Wal Mart Door greeters..
Expect a significant increase for neo drivers too +30% I'm lead to believe.

Well if one wants American made drivers with a Lansing Heritage and prices which evidently haven't shot up there's always GPA and Radian.
JBL just ain't Kalifornia Kool anymore.
I agree, too bad they don't have a clue and have managed to walk away from the core values that they held for Decades. (pun intended)
In one thread or another someone once quoted a Senior VP from the current JBL regime as saying that he thought speakers ought to be replaced every 2? years.
That speaks volumes about the company that once upon a time built my L100'S & 4312'S. Now the pioneering spirit of old is left to folks like Great Plains Audio and others.
That's great for audiophiles but James B would blanch at the thought.
