XPL160 Network

Thanks to our member Kulashaker I was able to inspect a XPL160 crosover. It is slightly different from the XPL160A crossover.
Every cap has a 0.01uF PP bypass cap that I left out as my spice programm don't support parallel caps.

Top network is XPL160

Comparing to the chart that I made of XPL200 vs 200A I see some similarities. In both cases there is less tweeter and more midrange in the revised version. I'm wondering if the reason was only to accomodate the different drivers. Or were they trying to change the sound.

Today I modified my XPL160 networks a bit
C3 was a NPE and this was a NO GO. Not for THAT Midrange driver.
So I replaced the NPE with high quality PP caps plus a film foil bypass.

C9 was a good quality PS cap. I replaced it with a superior quality PP cap plus a film foil bypass.

Sounds good but need to play a while.
