Why's it necessary or desireable to dump anybody?

    I don't get that part.

We're pleased and proud to have so many members, so let's get rid of most of 'em?

There were just four members on who've been members for awhile and they've never posted.

I don't think they broke anything while they were here looking around.

Sorry, man. It's just some fun.

Anyway, we're not dumping; we're PURGING!

Dumping would be throwing guys out who want to stay. Even if someone's never posted, we can see with the activity monitor who's been around, and that's fine. We have some "active" lurkers.

However, no posts and no activity in a year or so, kinda means they're not too interested. After selling what they want to sell and two or three posts, a lot of guys never come around again. Fine, that's good for them and maybe us, but once they're gone, drop 'em after a year or so.

Really, though, it's not a big deal to me, I just like the word PURGE!, especially in all caps and with an exclamation point and a gun next to it. So before anyone gets too worked up, it's just fun to PURGE! and I'll leave it at that.
    Out.

    Complex humor.

Speaking of which, I know what would cheer everyone up: The cat avatar! C'mon Giskard- show the cat again!!
If not the cat- how about the girl with the huge compression drivers?

I think louped garouv nailed it. And thats understandable, following this forums threads would be only half the fun without all these amazing pics of gear, technical details, schematics, DIY-projects etc etc.

Some more statistics could be interesting as well. I.e., how many non-americans are under these wall flowers. I'd guess the predominant part of them, the language barrier may be the reason. Understanding is the easier thing, online translators can help to make it bearable. Expressing himself, and describing/asking for technical details in not-so-good english (like me) is another, and the higher hurdle.

Good point Fangio. I can read Spanish well enough to get the intended idea but please don't ask me to respond in another language. I'd end up asking if better speakers taste dull with loud watermelon tubes inside! Speaking of, how about your 4343 progress?

i don't know about 'purging' folks that haven't posted,

    but am i missing something....

i just looked and it seems to me that there are over 2300 members that haven't posted (I searched members by # of posts, backwards -- lots of pages of '0' posts -- 70 something pages worth)

don't matter to me, but for clarity's sake....

Also, while we are there, did we lose 20 members?
