AL Santana II - Infos needed

    Hi there.

I'm looking for a pair of vintage speakers for my 6C33-Tube-Amp.

Now I have an offer for a nice pair of Santana II. But I don't know even a thing about this model. Can somebody do some support please?

Infos needed such as ohms, sensitivity/ efficiency (db on 1Watt/1metre), sound, second hand price. And anything else.

    Thanks

    D.

    Altecs I have a pair

What are your questions on the Santana II.
I have owned mine since the 90's and are the best speakers I have owned. But becuase of the age I had sent in one of the woffers to Altec to get reconed they did a great job.But they are out of bussiness now.I have a company in N.C. that tells me they can recone it and it may sound like the orginial. Its my only option sine just last week the other woffers foam has begen to fall off.
Which is the only problem with the speaker is the foam surround. It will fall apart every 10 to 12 years.
The guys at Altec told me it was a special speaker each cabnet was made out of the same peace of wood on the concept like a great volin which is made of the same wood.
They are very effecient and don't like to be driven hard. The first Santana had a 15" with a sealed cab. and liked more wattage.
The II have a 12" woffer.
Be aware the cabnets are large which help to create the perfect bass.
150 watt max. 3 or 3 1/2 tweeter. A little soft of the highs unlike the pro JBL 12 3 way speakers which have great mid and high coverage but the low bass is lacking.
