    Post mr835 crossover service/repair

I have and use my mr835 pro sound reinforcement 3 ways very often.. Recently I lost my bass in one cabinet. After testing both woofers, my conclusion is I lost my bass in my crossover in the one cabinet.. Can this be repaired and by who..I use these for live sound and they have been very reliable to me. I would like to get the crossover repaired... Any help or suggestions would be great.... Bear POint me in the right direction Please.!!!

    Hello
Since you determined that the speaker itself is still OK.
Look at the crossover for a broken solder connection, there not really
to much that burn up on the low side of a passive crossover and just stop the woofer from working. It's basically a coil in series with the woofer and maybe a cap paralleled across the woofer. It's unlikely that the coil itself opened up and even if the cap opened there would still be sound from the woofer. If you can get to the crossover while the speaker is hooked up to a amp, feed it some signal and try gently moving the components on the crossover board and see if it makes the woofer cut in and out.

Mike is right. Those crossover are known for bad solder joints. I have repaired so many of them and its never been bad components.

Another possibility is that the low freq. inductor is burned and shorted out. That would present a dead short to the amp and either make your amp go into protect mode and shut off or make the amp clip(distort, fuzz out...depending on the amp...like crazy).
