    Forum clock

Hey, what time zone is used to add the date-stamp to the forum posts GMT?
    Can we get it re-set?

I would suggest Northridge, California time
which is also a fair average of the home timezones of our site's founders:
    Winnipeg-LongBeach-Maui
(and is conveniently MY time zone)

It's a small issue, but can be confusing if you've ever been trying to sort out the history of multiple threads.

I'm posting this at 4:50 PM Pacific Time (California), February 15

but the forum has dated it as 12:50AM "today"
By "today" I believe it means Thursday Feb. 16 which would be correct for London, Dublin, Casablanca, Lisbonand Reykjavic.
Sounds kind of exotic, but not mucho useful for us North Americans and Canadians.

As an alternative, might just switch the "today" and "yesterday" notations to plain month/date, which would at least be more clear.

Each user sets their own time zone in the user control panel. Yours has not been set and has defaulted to GMT.

I thought your time zone was back in the 40's?

FYI - the forum averages the US Naval Observatory and Bureau of Standards atomic clocks to get a reasonable time estimate.

Can't seem to find that scowl emoticon. Instead I'll just have to growl menacingly:

    Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!

To John: averaging two atomic clocks is completely unacceptable. How am I supposed to reconcile the potential loss of a nano second. I might miss one of Giskard's posts.

He operates in two time zones at once. That's how some of his posts end up being deleted before they're even posted. Then the rest of us are like, "Is there something missing here...?"

If you look at posts per day you will see that I am no longer the chief forum whore Don. Nothing to see here, move along.

At first, I thought it might be me, but a little research reveals it's not--by a longshot! Thankfully I'm still a JBL slut even if I can't be chief forum whore.
