    Aloha sajt

I have 3 of those amps, love them
If you find you need help in servicing the amp
I had Ira of Iratec pro audio service them for me.
He used to work at Altec and knows those amps inside and out.
Many places still use those amps and use his services to keep them in top shape.

I know of audio shop that used to sell Altec that still has a brand new 9440A sitting on a shelf with the original price tag of $2,999.99 on it.

He also has one Altec LF1 sub... Don't think it was the LF2.

It is still in the "show room", now a storage room. There is a cigarette burn on it as a customer thought it was a coffee table and set the cigarette on it's edge. He just about throttled the customer as I was told.

    Altec 9440A Schematics

I got a clean, large readable set from musicparts.com for 10-20 bucks.
There is also a 9440.zip out there somewhere. I have a copy that I can email to you. Just send an email to [email protected] and I'll return the attachment. I tried to attach it to this but I don't think it worked.
    Have fun!

you will like it im sure, loads of power. Unless you have some incredible power sucking speakers you will never need to turn the fans on. i have one myself i cant turn the volume knob past 2 on my preamp without the windows shaking. i bought a 9446a a week ago can wait to hook it up. it has double the power of the 9440a. 400 watts per channel 8 ohms. 1200 watts bridged into a single channel. WOO HOO. lol
