Do you know why they really change to the bigger srceen?

Has anyone bysides me removed the screens from there tweeters like 034, 035ti or 044ti's and noticed the big sound improvement. There is alot less smearing of the HF.

I've thought about it with my 035ti's, but haven't tried it yet. Not sure if the potential sonic improvement justifies the risk of dome damage.

Yeah well, that's why they made the 077. But they forgot how much fun it could be to stuff a peanut butter and jelly sandwich into that slot.

This improves dampening of that really high sound

I thought they were there to keep out nesting bugs/spiders and the like in outdoor instalations... maybe my basement too !

In the interest of presvervation I'm willing to give up a bit of fidelity to maintain structural integrity of the tweeter domes on my 044s and 035TIs.
