    Jbl kit info

I got these old jbl from thrift shop a while back. I have no clue of any model of info on them you guys know anything. The dimenstions are3 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1 1/2. The drivers are D123 and le20 tweeters. the crossover is the lx2. They also have a weird Porrt design. It is a 12 port(hole) design. They are 1960's i believe.

Got any cool info on them?

That is an old distributed port design. It was given a patent around 60 years ago.

could it have been a design that allowed the use of different speaker sizes in a generic cabinet? say a 12" or a 15". We use to be be weird in the 60's.

I have never seen the port design but the drivers are the same used in a possible C56 (Dorian) configuration.

Those components were/are known as the 032

D123, LE20, LX2 network. You can find it in the JBL Library here:

This sites' library is quite good. With a little digging you can find lots of cool things about vintage components ans systems.
