I have a pair of cabs I purchased that I am not sure what they are. They look like they could be XPL250 prototypes. Do any of you know?

Cool that's certainly what the look like. You get them off E-bAY?? I have seen them before, at least that picture anyway. So what you doing with them???? You want to sell them?? Any networks in them?? Send me a PM I might be interested.
Rob
G.T., Greg Timbers? Cool cabinets.
thats a pretty cool find

I bought them a couple of years ago to build. I don't plan to sell them. They had block off plates where the crossovers go. What would the correct componets be? 035Ti, 093Ti, 118H, LE14H ???

Well load them up will ya Glad to see you are planning on doing something with them. Take a look at this XPL-250 prototype
You have more pictures??? Can you post some measurements???

Are you in Oregon?
Oregon, Ohio, I mean.
Those look like 250Ti protos or mock ups to me. The XPL250 proto had decidedly beveled edges off the front baffle rather than rounded edges.
Out.
I have not found all the parts to finish them yet. I am still looking for the 109's and LE14H's. I currently have LE14A's, 2118H's, 093TI's, 035TI's L250 crossovers, or XPL200 xovers. I will likely start with my active bss fds-388 omnidrive. If anyone has the parts I need availabe send me a pm.

The 093Ti will like the NXPL200 (or NXPL200A) network, but the other drivers will not, especially the LE14H-x and the 035Ti. Maybe the 035Ti will be able to cope somewhat, but that network is meant for a 12" woofer with markedly different characterisitics than the 14" driver you envision.
Out.
IF you change your mind and want to rid yourself of those cabinets, I am in the same state and would be interested.

C'mon, Giskard, he's probably closer than you think there in Beautiful Ohio.Originally Posted by Giskard

Blaster,
I've spoken personally with Greg Timbers and he only made the one prototype, which he has possession of and will never part with.
The XPL-250's was a one off experiment that unfortunately never took off and was shelved indefinitely. There will be no plans in the future to reinstate these babies.
Sorry to dampen your spirits but great find none the less.
Cheers

Anyway its fun to dream about having a little piece of idiosynchratic history (read history no one else would care about).
During college I used to drag around a shake model for the Galileo space probe they were throwing out, from one tiny living abode to another for no sane reason other then I appreciated the place it had in history. Lifes nothing but a collection of stories.
