I NEED HELP TO ID VINTAGE JBL's

Be gentle, I am new and am not familiar with the do’s and don’ts. I just purchased this pair of JBL speakers (not one of those “I was driving by a Garage Sale and found them hooked up to an 8B and paid $25. for everything” stories). I found them at an auction and had to pay more than I wanted. I like the looks and sound of them.

I am looking for any info (model number, year, etc.) for these. The numbers are:

    Box A:
    X-Over N1200 S/N: 10949
    Model 175 S/N: 13149
    Model 130A S/N: 20515

    Box B:
    X-Over N1200 S/N: 10950
    Model 175 S/N: 13141
    Model 130A S/N: 20514

Close consecutive numbers. All 16ohms. 130A’s have “130 202” stamped on cones.
    Thanks for any help.

Appear to me as C37/"Rhodes" cabinets with 001 speaker system...
from badges on grilles, I'd -guess- ca. 1968. Nice find

Just signed up last night & have been perusing the site. I've relied
on the JBL PRO site for all my question & answer sessions until now.
Somehow that site brought me here

I'm a working musician who has been using 4600B Series Cabaret
    Speakers, 4691B (SN 25785 & 26478) + 4625B (SN 23354 & 23xxx)
with a Crown MA1200 for my PA main system. My Behringer FX5000
does the mixing (cheap, but effective) Another band mate has been
providing the monitors & monitor amp.

    Now I have added 4628B (SN 23000 & 23197) as well as 5234A
    Crossovers (SN 14011 & 14529) & another Crown MA1200 to my
inventory which also includes a Behringer PMX2000 mixer & 4 of that
    brands' speakers.

I've been trying to come up with a "Best Useage" strategy for putting
all this together for a main & monitor system. Crossover cards are 90
& 120 Hz. What would you do?

    Cant login to server

I wanted to add my serial numbers into the server, but got the invalid name password notice every time...must be doing something wrong? I am supposed to use name: Ihs and password: Ihs2007. Is that correct?

I have not cracked open my C 34 yet for numbers ( because I've only had it for 30 years), but I have another 175 sitting here on the shelf ser# 1250.
    Thank you

Serial Numbers from a JBL D44000 Paragon

There's a beat up Paragon of unknown vintage for sale on eBay, with the following serial number info:

The 3-digit code stamped into the top rear panel of each cabinet is 185

On the underside of each speaker housing is a sticker that reads

    James B. Lansing Sound, Inc.
    Model No. - D44000
    Impedance - (blank)
    Serial No. 291
Los Angeles, Calif. Made in USA.

    Right Housing
High frequency driver: Model 075, Serial No. 13884.
Mid frequency driver: Model 375, Serial No. 2766
Dividing network: Model N400, Serial No. 1523

    Left Housing
    High frequency driver: absent
Mid frequency driver: Model 375, Serial No. 2958
Dividing network: Model N400, Serial No. 1522

I'm curious what the bass drivers are (the seller says he can't access them). From the Paragon page it sounds like they switched in the early 60s from 150-4C to LE15A drivers. I'm in Pasadena where the speakers are, and could go have a look at them if there's an easy way to get at the bass drivers and anyone feels like having those serial numbers (or any others that aren't mentioned in the auction) could contribute to the chronology. Does anyone know what would be involved or what to look for?

Here are images of the drivers which were included in the auction description. They're all linked to from this page too at high res.

    Hi,

thanks for this link, this Paragon must have the 150-4C inside in relation to the SN.
    Built in late 1960.

This is what the Lansing Heritage Registry shows.

    HP

PS: There are now 58 paragons (from about 1800 built) in the registry.

So it is. The seller apparently found this thread and decided to open up the cabinets and got pictures of the bass drivers.

    JBL 150-4C Serial No. 11713
    JBL 150-4C Serial No. 11714

It's amazing anything 50 years old can look that clean. Especially in comparison to the outside.

    Vintage Altec 831A Capistrano

Hi, I am new to the LH Forum and have only posted a couple of times. My name is David and I am getting started in the Vintage Audio World. I have the link to Serial Number Search site and I didn't know if you wanted these included in the list. I own a pair of Altec 831A-Capistrano speakers given to me by my dad whom purchased in 1962. It is my understanding that they were manufactured in 1964. The cabinets are dismantled, but I still have them along with the drivers. Do you still want the cabinet serial numbers since they are unassembled? Also, on the 803B woofers, the serial number is stamped on the frames but there is I believe a date code inked on the inside of the cone, do you want that as well?

I think this is a great thing that you guys are doing.

One more thing. I purchased on ebay 2-416A woofers, the N-800F Dividing networks, 811B horns with the 806A HF Drivers. They all came from a person back east that was selling her Valencia's with severely damaged cabinets. I don't have the cabinets. Do you want the serial numbers from these as well?

    Thank you

    David/ Southern California
